F. Wenderoth Saunders  (1901-1992) 
Studied at the Massachusetts School of Art (A.B., 1924), (A.M., 1926) and in Fine Arts from Harvard (Ed.M. Fine Arts, 1934), the Chicago Art Institute with Professor Allen Philbrick. He received a fellowship from Harvard in 1925. Illustrator, painter and teacher.  Illustrator and wrote 3 children's books (Crossroads of Conquerors, Building Brooklyn Bridge, Machines for You).  He created over 100 watercolors for Ford Motor Travel and was commissioned by John J. Wilson for a pictorial of the history of  steam locomotives.  He created 35 plus watercolors for that pictorial.  Founded the Maine Art Gallery in 1956 and was elected to the Guild of Boston Artists in 1958.
