Anne Packard  (born 1933)

Carmean and Maurice Templesman to name a few.  Publications include Art Business News, Art New England, Associated Press, The Boston Globe, Cape Cod Compass, Cape Cod Life, Cape Cod Antiques & Art, Channel 7 Boston, Fine Life of America, Home & Garden TV, Provincetown Banner, Trenton Times, New York Times, Princeton Packet, Provincetown and the National Seashore, the Provincetown Library and more.  In the January/February issue of the Cape Cod View (2010), there was a wonderful story on Anne and Cynthia and Leslie.  Anne was 30 when she took up painting.  She had 5 children, the youngest 6 months old at the time.  Her family summered in Provincetown where her grandfather, the early modernist, Max Bohm lived.  She supported her young family by hanging paintings of Provincetown on wood panels and weathered shingles along her front yard fence, selling them for $15.00 and $20.00, then $50.00 and $75.00.  Robert Motherwell who was living in Provincetown at the time bought 4 of them right off the fence.  He returned a few days later and purchased more.  The two became friends.  The rest is history.  She has painted in  Ireland, Italy, Greece and Mexico.  Collectible books include 'Anne Packard, Introspective' and 'Anne Packard, Coffee Table Book'.  She is the featured artist in the 2013 Annual publication of the prestigious "Provincetown Arts".
