Hi Friends and Art Collectors: 

I have decided to hold off on any additional art auctions until after September, 2013.  There are several reasons for my decision but ultimately it comes down to the economy.  The news talks about this recession and Wall Street and Main Street but never seem to mention the 'side streets' which aptly describes my sellers and buyers.  Until the economy and the financial position of all of us 'side streeters' improves, it makes no sense for me to continue to organize these auctions as the final net income to OCA Auctions after an auction does not equate to the cost of organizing them. 

I will however focus more on private sales of art.  Since 1999, I have amassed a great list of serious collectors of certain artists (ex:  Anne Packard, Robert Cardinal, Henry Hensche, Ross Moffett, Karl Knaths and so on) so I invite all sellers of art of Provincetown artists to please consider using OCA Auctions as a possible path to sell important works.  The advantage to private sales is a higher selling price, higher net to sellers and most importantly, a quicker pay out to the sellers.  If you feel you have a piece of art that falls in the category of 'fine art' and would like to explore the possibility of using OCA Auctions, then please email me at terry@outercapeauctions.com and include full details and any images that would be useful for me to evaluate the feasibility of OCA Auctions representing you on the sale of that work.
